Origine géographique : l'espèce est présente depuis l'extrême Est de l'Afghanistan, la majeure partie du Pakistan (sauf le Sud-ouest), l'Inde, le Sri Lanka et le Sud du Népal jusqu'au Bouthan et l'Assam en passant par le Nord du Bengladesh.

Statut dans la nature : en danger ; vulnérable ; pas globalement menacée ; fréquente ; abondante

Elevage en Europe : aucun ; occasionnel ; peu commun ; commun ; abondant.
