Origine géographique : l’espèce est endémique de Taïwan, à une altitude comprise entre 300 et 2300 m un peu partout sur l'île mais davantage présente au-dessus de 1500 m sans doute à cause d'une exploitation plus importante dans les zones basses d'accès plus facile.
